Reality or Perception?

Sometimes, at 3 AM, I wonder: What is real? Is anything truly real? Or is reality just an illusion?

Our perception infact becomes our reality. But if perceptions vary, can reality be absolute?

Take Julius Caesar for example.

To Brutus, he was ambitious.
To Antony, he was not.

"Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?" asked Antony.

The same Caesar, yet two different men. Two different realities. Whose Caesar was real- Brutus's or Antony's?

I think truth or reality is subjective.
You may be a hero to some, a villain to other- who you are depends on who tells the story.

God is real to some. God is the ultimate truth to others. But to some, God is merely politics.

For non-believers, God cannot be seen, so He is not real. Believers, on the other hand, do not need to see God to believe in Him.

"You don’t believe what you see. You see what you believe."

So, is reality just a mirage?

A movie is brilliant to some, terrible to others.
A mother is selfless to one, selfish to another.
Hitler is a visionary to his followers, a dictator to  most.

Does this mean your reality is fake? No.
It only means that truth is not universal but is rather personal.

History especially is a mixture of perspectives.
Gandhi is a Mahatma (great soul) to most, an arrogant pervert to some.
Bhagat Singh is a patriot to Indians, a terrorist to the British.

Where does truth lie? Truth lies in whatever side you believe in.

Studying rhetoric I realized that arguments are not about truth but about persuasion.
If reality was absolute, would rhetoric be necessary?

Would Antony need to convince the crowd that Caesar was not ambitious?
Would political leaders need speeches to change public opinion?

Reality is molded by us. Real is not found like hidden diamonds but rather it's created by us.

Nothing in this world, whether a person or a dream, is inherently real. It is our perception that makes it genuine.

What you believe to be real ultimately becomes your reality.

"The difference between a mountain and a molehill is your perspective." – Al Neuharth

"Reality is not an absolute. It is a perception of a perception." – Debasish Mridha

"Reality is created by the mind; we can change our reality by changing our mind." – Plato

"There are no facts, only interpretations." – Friedrich Nietzsche

So, don’t break your mind over what is real and what is not.
Because even these ideas of mine are not real.
They are only my perception.
